The Peoria Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce this year’s Dinner at the Diamond will be celebrating 25 Years of Spring Training Baseball at the Peoria Sports Complex.
Special plans are being made for a fantastic evening of sports talk, excellent food and live music that the entire community is welcome to attend. The event is scheduled for Friday February 9th, 2018 beginning at 5:00pm and ending at 9:00pm at the Peoria Sports Complex. The public is welcome and encouraged to bring friends to help celebrate this memorable 25th Anniversary. Attendees must be 18-years or older.
Celebrity guests will include retired major league baseball players, and members of the Ferguson Jenkins Foundation. Formed in 1999, the Fergie Jenkins Foundation has become one of the most wide-reaching registered charities in North America. Supporting more than 500 charities in Canada and the United States, the Foundation raises money for organizations under the mandate of “Serving Humanitarian Need Through the Love of Sport.”
Dinner for the evening is being catered by Professional Sports Catering who will be creating a delicious buffet meal featuring Roasted Tri Tip in a red wine reduction sauce, Chicken Marsala and a Vegetarian Pasta Primavera. Nothing Bundt Cakes will be providing the perfect dessert.
The live entertainment will be the Rob West Band who will sing a mixture of country favorites plus his own original songs. A Silent Auction will be held packed with fun goodies and valuable gifts for attendees to bid on. Tickets are $75 per person or $125 per couple. The first 300 tickets purchased will receive a free ticket to the Peoria Diamond Club Spring Training Charity Game between the San Diego Padres and the Seattle Mariners.
A portion of the evening’s proceeds will benefit the Peoria Diamond Club. Established in 1993, the Diamond Club’s mission is to raise funds for local youth charities and organizations through extensive volunteer efforts. The Peoria Diamond Club and its members are dedicated to supporting the many wonderful community programs that educate and enrich our children’s lives while enhancing their futures.
